A friend in Norway tells me that the ISSF is due to allow the 17 HM2 in 50 m competition. Has anyone heard this rumour? Any truth to it?

I would actually bet a lot of money against that happening.

Why would they bother when the 22LR is so accurate, cheaper and slower.

Is your friend trying to sell you a gun chambered for that round?

Actually the 17 ammo is quite a bit more accurate. However I dont see the ISSF allowing it in competition. It doesnt register on many of the electronic targets because of its velocity. In fact it also puts a score of zero up on the targets next to the one it was shot on.

David Levene,

No one is trying to sell anyone enything. Had a bad day before you posted this? I didn't know that an individual in Norway could sell guns to individuals in the US....

Wtf,

Thanks for the reply. It has been decades since I was involved in UIT shooting but with a little girl ready to start shooting, I'm looking at this sport again. I'll keep my little girl company though I am sure young blood would beat old every single time in the years to come.

I just figured there must be some reason why your friend would tell you something that was so unlikely. Anyway, my comment was rather tongue-in-cheek.
How could we tell that you are in the US? Your profile doesn't give your location.
