Hi, I was looking on the internet and observed this rifle. Can anyone tell me what type of shooting this rifle is for and if it is a good quality rifle. Also, what type of rifle shooting is done in the olympics and what distances for rimfire? Is this rifle used by rimfire rifle shooters in the olympics? I am just very curious at this point. I have looked all over to find these answers, but so far, I am unable to find these answers. Any help is appreciated, Thank You!

The 1913 are an excellent rifle, and it´s very used for the olympic marksmen of first level. The alu stock allows better adjustments, in all the positions, and it allows a lower position in prone position, without infringing the regulation of the 30°.
I possess a 1913, with 1907 stock, and I plan to acquire an alu stock.

You can use a rifle like that for the ISSF (International, or olympic style) 3-position (prone, standing, kneeling) or prone only events at 50m, as well as NRA smallbore prone (and i think they have a 3 or 4 position event also) at 50 yds to 100 yds.

You will need the rifle in a stock and a set of sights for it.

Also a shooting coat, glove, sling, mat and add pants and boots for 3-p, also a spotting scope and stand and a few other accessories. Oh yeah and some ammo. When you get good, you will want good ammo.

Next time you hear a car commercial on the radio, the price they quote... that's how much you will end up spending. give or take a little.

WHERE in Calif are you? if you are in LA area, the LAR&R club is a REALLY nice little range for precision smallbore rifle competition.

there are clubs elsewhere in Calif but I don't have links

You will find a strong interest in the Anschutz 2013 with the Stopper Stock at that club. I can put you in touch with the US distributor for Stopper if you like, actually if you are at LARR observing you'll probably already have met him.

good shooting

I shoot with a 2013 myself Bill, in a 2313 aluminium stock - what's this "Stopper stock" like? Is there a website for it somewhere?

(Oh, and merry christmas to all from Ireland, by the way :) )

the main element is an aluminum extrusion (doesn't fracture and break)

most adjestments have scales so you can record position
