Are Walther GSP and OSP frames the same?

I've got a Walther OSP, which is clearly obsolete with the new RF rules. Not that I'm shedding too many tears. I love RF, but the OSP never fit my hand, and had terrible malfunction problems.
What I'm thinking about doing is getting the GSP conversion and a set of GSP grips. I know that the upper will fir, but will the grips work? Or am I better off trying to acquire a new GSP and start from scratch? TIA

Mike,
Whether or not your OSP frame will work for a GSP conversion depends on a lot more than the grip fit. The older OSPs were a separate design, and accept only the OSP (.22 short) magazines from that era. At some point, Walther changed the design so that the frames for the OSP and the GSP were the same, and the newer OSP versions will accept .22LR magazines. In fact, I have converted my newer OSP to .22LR by following Sandy Santibanez's helpful instructions and advice. But if you do have an older version it won't matter what you do with the top end or the grip, because the GSP mags won't fit. Check with a Walther expert to determine if your OSP is a good candidate for conversion. HTH
