Off call ap shots

Post by JohnK »

I have been having off call shots lately with my LP10.
At least once every 10 shots I get a shot into the 8 ring at 2:00 o'clock that I don't call.
The only thing I can come up with is I am "thumbing" the gun.
Does anyone have any other suggestions/diagnosis?
Thanks!

Well you dont say where the rest of the shots go, but if they are going in the 10 ring, I wouldnt worry about it.

Otherwise if your target looks like a .410 shooting BB shot, then you have greater problems than an occaisional missed call.

Oh, yes, we know that one.
If you are a right handed shooter like me, these damned "far up right" shots occur when I am:
- Aiming too long. To compensate for fatigue and the urge to lower the gun, one just holds a litle harder. If I then unintentionally apply some pressure sideways with your triggerfinger, and also press unintentionally a litle harder with the thumb, those undesirable shots appear on target.

A possible cure is to lower the gun immediately when fatigue is felt. And aim the gun the same number of seconds before discharge.

I would not blame your 8s on the Steyr LP 10!
