Hi everyone! I'm looking for a diagram showing the structure of the iris mounted to the rear sight, like the Centra Sight 3.0 Comb or any similar model. I'm particularly curious about where to position the eye cover. I typically mount it at the end, but I’ve noticed that the description mentions a specific location for inserting the cover. Any guidance on the factory placement would be appreciated!

Oh you mean a blinder. I've heard these called occluders, but never an eye cover. I'd say these normally clip on between the eyepiece and the rearsight, where the eyepiece is narrow. Anschutz used to provide a disc thst screwed back against the eyepiece to hold on a blinder.

Fixing a blinder at the back, near the shooter, would get in the way of a lens holder, if used, and for me would flap around my left eye in a distracting manner.

If you have a steel rearsight, magnetic cupboard door catches are another way to attach a blinder.

Gehmann makes a translucent blocker with a rubber disc, that has a hole through the center, which slips over the rear iris. Easy to install, adjust and then remove for storage. Around $10 USD. No need to tighten or loosen equipment. As I don’t use a rear lens for correction behind the rear iris I can’t tell you if it would work with that.

I made blinders for myself and my junior rifle team out of coroplast (corrugated plastic sheet). I cut several pieces within the issf specs. Then drill a hole about 1/2 inch from the end that is slightly smaller than the diameter of the rear sight iris post. Then cut an opening between the end and the inside of the hole I drilled leaving inside edge smaller than the iris post.

Then you can just slip on and slip off the blinder without unscrewing the rear iris like traditional blinders.

Here is a picture of one of my juniors with the blinder attached to his rifle.
