Hi
I’ve been shooting the wonderful Kruger B-17 free pistol targetd for a long time. But, nobody seems to sell them now, including the Kruger dealer in Atlanta.
Anybody know a source for high quality 50 meter or 50 yd free pistol targets, preferably Kruger or Edelmann?
I just can’t go back to those awful National Target products!
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Free pistol target source
I've generally had good luck with American brand targets when Krugers weren't available. I use their 50 yard free pistol targets, and they are fine.
Re: Free pistol target source
Thanks for the recommendation. I ordered a small lot of repair centers from Champions Choice to hold me over. It is surprising to me to see that the high quality European paper targets suddenly seem so difficult to find. I guess I shouldn’t be, all things considered.
I’ve reached out to the company importing Kruger targets and will see if they reply.
Their quality has spoiled me. Excellent quality paper, superior visibility, resistance to wind and rain damage.
I even “recycle” them by cutting the perimeter w/o bullet holes into smaller sizes so I can shoot the blank backs for air pistol practice. The pellets cut beautiful holes. Can’t do that with National brand!
Thanks!
Re: Free pistol target source
The story I heard when Kruger USA stopped importing targets was that it was because Kruger targets were no longer NRA certified, and couldn't be used in matches. Apparently the NRA went on a "Made in America" kick, and refused to certify any non-US made targets.
The Kruger targets you can get now are identical to the old ones, but they are being imported by one guy as a side-line. It's a much lower volume operation, and he may not want to carry quite as many varieties to keep life simple, and/or for storage space reasons.
Try the American targets. They are fine for .22. Air pistol is when you really NEED the special short fiber paper Kruger uses.

Re: Free pistol target source
If you get Kruger targets wet, they basically dissolve. The NRA found this out at the small bore nationals the year before they moved to Indiana. But yes I like the Kruger for 10M air pistol.
Re: Free pistol target source
Thank you for the replies! I am always grateful for your time and thoughts.
I had heard there was an “issue” with granting the official NRA logo, but did not know details.
As far as getting wet is concerned, that is surprising!
I have shot in hard downpours (from a covered position!), and was amazed at the ability of the Kruger targets to be unaffected.
I guess the gradual falling off of free pistol may be something of a factor as well?
Again, Thank You!
