Lp10 trigger problem...

Post by Jerry LeVan »

Sigh,
I guess my LP10 needs a return trip to Pilkingtons for a overhaul of the trigger.
When I start applying pressure on the second stage I sometimes feel a slip/click in the trigger. It seems like whenever this happens it is more difficult to get the shot to break. ( This could be mind trick )
However if I release the trigger and restart the shot process, the slightest pressure on the second stage fires the AP ( got a hole in the wall two feet above the target before I figured out what the heck was going on).
This appears to be an intermittant problem aggravated by my ultra slow application of pressure on the second stage.
Once before I had a trigger problem with the AP, it unilateraly developed a hair trigger that I was able to fix by readjusting the appropriate screws.
Anyone else ever have a similiar problem with their LP10's?

Hi,
I seems to have a similar problem with my lp10 trigger. Sometimes the slightest pressure on the 2nd stage will release the shot. This will couples with a 'kick' felt during the after-stop.
I always set the 1st and 2nd stage pressure approx. equal with slightly more on the 2nd. Trigger pressure was 550g.
The most embarrassing incident happened during the World Cup. The sighting shots were ok. My first regulation shot was a misfire...the shot was released even before the gun was aligned!!!
I was only about to engage the 2nd pressure when that happened.
It never happened after that shot and it destoryed my confidence in that gun.
Changed to a Morini with an electric trigger.

Had something similar with an LP1. Sounds like a sear engagement problem. You could try to adjust the red screw inside the pistol, but the best is to let Pilkington have a look at it.
