Morini air cylinder

Post by Old Cyclist »

I need to get an air cylinder for a Morini 162EI. They don’t seem to be too common and are pretty expensive. Do any other air cylinders fit this gun? I know it’s unlikely, but I thought I’d ask. Many thanks,
Jack

If you aren't planning on going to any big competitions, you can probably get a good deal on a used one that is past its 10 year "life". Morini cylinders were rated for 20 years before the 10 year rule went into effect, and if they are properly cared for, they are perfectly safe. If you are in North America, and don't mind a short cylinder, there are a couple for sale on eBay.

Every manufacturer has their own proprietary design for their cylinders. The closest I've ever seen is the Benelli Kites & Morinis. The fittings use the same thread size & seal approach, but the length of the pin is slightly different. The Benelli cylinders are larger diameter than Morinis and so probably won't fit, and they are VERY hard to find. I've investigated using Morini cylinders on Kites, but the valve doesn't quite open.
