Hammerli 280 repair - US

I have a Hammerli 280 in need of some work. Specifically, I’ve noticed some rotational play in the barrel. Additionally, I’m routinely getting high shots with the first round out of each magazine with subsequent rounds coming back to center. I’m not sure if this problem is due to the aforementioned barrel issue or if it’s caused by the fact the first round is seated differently.
I’ve contacted Red Feather but they don’t work on guns. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Greetings,
More details, please.
22lr or 32 S&W Long?
The barrel and mounting lug are two pieces Copper brazed together. This joint has been known to fail.
If the barrel and mounting lug have failed, the extractor notch at the breech end of the barrel will not align correctly verifying the failure.
Does the above sound like your situation?
Cheers,
Dave

Also, is the gun an early model, with two spurs on the front of the upper, or a later one, with one big spur? The early 280s in .32 are known for throwing the first shot off - mine will consistently put the first shot 3 inches high.

Hi guys and thanks for the response. And a special hello to you Dave W. - you replaced my Pardini HP32 barrel in 2009. Still a stellar performer - (with the right ammo)
Anyway back to the Hammerli - yes its the .32 and attached is a photo** which may answer Mike's question.
Dave as to the extractor alignment, cycling the slide manually shows the extractor hitting the notch dead center. There's also no noticeable wear either on the extractor or the notch which would suggest misalignment.
The gun is a great shooter with the exception of that almost consistent first round high flyer. Sure hope there's a fix other than to adjust my hold on the first shot and hope it would have been a flyer!!! ;-)
