Hi guys,

I’ve been away from 10m AP for years now but have a renewed interest. I have a Morini 162ei I bought new from Scott 5 or 6 years ago and never shot it, before that I had a Steyr LP10 which I did shoot. I have a regular aluminum scuba tank I bought 7 or 8 years ago from a dive shop that’s still almost full, the yoke adapter I bought from Scott, and of course the brass fill adapter that came with my Morini. So I’ve forgotten the procedure to fill pistol air cylinders, I’m assuming I un-screw the cylinder from gun .. screw cylinder onto brass adapter which is screwed into the yoke adapter .. then open scuba tank valve to fill pistol cylinder .. but how much do I open the valve on the scuba tank? Also Scott put a tube of Super Lube synthetic grease in the box when I bought the pistol .. where do you put that grease? And when I go to screw the Morini brass fill adapter into my yoke do I lube the threads or use Teflon tape .. or just keep the threads dry? I’m not getting any younger and just completely forgot how I use to do all this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Put the yoke on the scuba tank. Screw the adapter into the yoke. Put a tiny drop on the threads where the adapter mates to the cylinder threads. Screw on the cylinder. Slowly open the scuba tank valve until you hear air, and see the guage show filling until it stops. Close scuba valve. Unscrew cylinder from adapter and then onto your gun.
Shoot 10s.

NEVER NEVER NEVER teflon tape any air connection for your gun

I just want to reiterate to turn the scuba tank on very slowly and as soon as you hear the hiss of air watch the dial gauge on the cylinder being filled and turn the valve off when the dial indicates full. Do not overfill. The object is to fill slowly so the cylinder does not heat up and/or get warm (if possible) for an accurate fill.

Thanks guys, it’s all coming back to me. If I remember correctly you don’t need to put any lube on the brass Moroni adapter threads where it screws into the scuba tank yoke correct? Thanks again!

Correct. Where the adapter screws into the fitting pretty much will stay there. It is where you are unscrewing the cylinder from the small end of the adapter that could use some lube. That lube will then transfer to the gun where you thread it in and keep that from wearing. It is the part that has the wear potentially because it is under pressure when you are threading the cylinder off of the fill adapter or the gun.

As has already been said, never use silicone, it's like putting fine sand on the threads.

Hey thanks for helping me out Brent. Ok I ordered some Super Lube 21010 (all though it says 21014 on the tube) which I’ve read here is the stuff to use, the pistol has never been shot in the 5 years or so I’ve had it, and the red cylinder that came screwed into the pistol never unscrewed, should I put a small dab of the Super Lube on the pistol’s male cylinder threads too? .. or just the brass adapter small threads? Thanks yet again!

You can put some on the gun, but putting it on the fill adapter will lube the same threads that go on the gun. Once you get it lubed that you can see it is there, there is no need to lube again until you think it has diminished. Certainly not every fill, maybe every 10th fill.
