New to the forum and Olympic Pistol

Post by ppap »

Hey all, I'm new to the forum and Olympic pistol. Just got a Walther LP500 and I'm eager to go to my first competition.

Question: I noticed that the LP500 barrel length is 221mm, while a Morini CM 162 and Pardini K12 are 240mm. Does this affect accuracy? Does length matter? (pun slightly intended)

Welcome. I'm very new myself, having started in August. Early on, don't worry about the equipment too much. I got started with a cheapo Air Venturi. As long as you are focusing on your technique and learning how to be consistent, you'll start improving. You can start being particular about equipment when you're able to get consistent scores and have a particular reason to get a particular piece of equipment.

If you are cross eyed like me - then yes, the lengthier the better. That is what I have massively experimented and found out.
I use Walther Lp 500 Basic - and I increased the barrel length by extra 20 mm.
The rear sight is also made the minimal thin - ( eyes wonder for me ).
You can do it too. But that is our accuracy - not the guns.
The gun, as GWhite sir pointed it out - is more accurate than any of us.
