Champion Olympic Lens flopping

Need some guidance...

I have a pair of Champion Olympics, and the right eyepiece just started "flopping" along the frame. So not the lens holder itself, but the piece that slides along the horizontal frame by turning the thumb screw piece. It basically has about 20* of play now, where it was tight before. Not sure what happened. It looks like the right earpiece hinge can be removed, and the whole assembly screwed off the frame, but I can't get the flat head screw holding the ear piece on to budge.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks!

Dave

Dave,
Happens that I was working on my Champions the other day and also found that I could not shift the screw bolding the side arm on to the main frame.

I intend to try a little "gentle" heat when I get a chance.

One way to put some heat on just the screw and on a very local area is to use a soldering iron with no solder.

Dont heat the screw, that expands it in the hole tightening it.
If you use a soldering iron, tough the frame and get it to expand
