What is the difference between a front sight level and a rear sight one? Which one is used for what? If you get one of them does it mean there is no reason to get the other one? Is there any reason to install both of them?

purpose of a level is to "level" the rifle the same way each time. if you "cant" the rifle, a level is valuable because it gets your rifle the same "cant" each time. re putting it in the front vs rear: in my opinion, it's your choice... put it where ever it helps you the best. there is no reason (imo) why one would need two levels

Both do the same job. The difference is where you see the level in the rearsight. I like a level on the foresight tunnel. It's just there in my peripheral vision. Others may find a foresight level distracting, and prefer an unobtrusive receiver level at the bottom of the sight picture.

You could have both on a .22 if you really wanted, but it's twice the work to get both perfectly level.
