Our 4-H club acquired 4 of these with an NRA Foundation Grant.MollyJanet wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 6:31 am So after maybe 18 months in the wild, do we have any more long-term experience on these? I have a feeling that production numbers are low -- I thought I read they only made 500/year?
Thoughts:
More than accurate enough - no problems there
Stock is kinda bulky ... think wide & a bit heavy ... would have wished for more of a XSV/CZ sized stock
Fill concept ... I'm not too keen on this. (Push in fill adapter) But we only let adults do the fill. Have not had these long enough to see how the seals wear.
Fill quantity ... this gun does not have a regulator ... In tests I did with a chronograph, 120 shots easy w no significant drop in velocity ... at about 130 I could see it dropping. In a 3x20 CMP 3PAR match should be able to go all the way w/o a fill unless you have someone who really cranks off the shots in sighters.
Probably my biggest gripe above is the stock. With our XSV/CZ we can use them with our smallest shooters. The 599 stock is a a bit too heavy and the grip is (I'd say) sized between a M & L precision.
It does not matter anyway as CMP is allowing (essentially) precision guns into the sporter category (IMO)
