Hi. Is there any Canadian shooter in ISSF 10m air rifle discipline in this forum who can tell me if firearm license is required to own an air rifle (7.5 joules) in Canada?

The reason I am asking is that I am moving to Canada from Hong Kong in a few month’s time. I would like to know the legal requirements to import and own an air rifle in Canada. I have a firearm license to own and have an air rifle myself in Hong Kong.

If your air rifle has a muzzle velocity of over 500 fps (152 m/s) and that its muzzle energy is higher than 5.7 joules, it is considered a firearm in Canada.
