Feinwerkbau Special Grease

Post by greg childress »

Could this FWB Special grease # 1750.010.3 simply be white Lithium grease. I need to put new seals in an air rifle and was wondering about this grease.
What do others use?

Use silicon based oils or grease for air guns (polydimethylsiloxane).

Recommend never allow a petroleum-based grease or oil to be used on air guns - the petroleum-base can act as a solvent degrading the seals.

Theres also the possibility of spontaneous combustion with petroleum lubes and compressed air. Think Diesel.

I have a tube of this Super Lube product. Anyone familiar with it:

It is a synthetic grease with Teflon. Good for springers and SSP?

Thanks

NO!

Keep the petroleum-based greases away - ESPECIALLY FOR SPRINGERS!!!

You will get dieseling - the oil or grease will burn upon compression - with a Springer, this is exactly what will happen. Meanwhile your seals degrade from the petroleum base.

Try Silicone based oil:

If that resounding NO was for the synthetic grease with Teflon, I believe it does not contain petroleum.
I don't quite know the difference between the synthetic and the silicone based lubes.

I do know the synthetic grease can be used with food handling equipment. Not much help with air guns but, whatever.

I just have loads of grease and other assorted lubes and chemicals of all descriptions as well as the mentioned Super Lube Synthetic Grease and don't want to add to my collection if I can avoid it.

Thanks

Feinwerkbau say their 'white' grease is an acid free 'Synthetic' grease, They are concerned people will put the wrong type of grease in the rifle and over lube it, if in doubt contact Feinwerkbau

No problem, the folks at FWB recommend using the "special" grease on their rifles and pistols.
