co2/PCP rifle storage (cylinders )

Post by bandur60 »

What is the consensus on putting these rifles (888/887, T200, Challenger and the like) up for (a) a few days to a week and (b) for 6 - 9 months? Cocked or not? We leave CBIs in place with both ends showing in which case the action can't be closed and is probably cocked. Loosen/ remove CO2 or CA cylinders? I've seen many different ideas about this and haven't really seen any specific manufacturer recommendations. Also, what about silicone oil on CA cylinder o-rings? We've installed them dry for years in the T200 type rifles and had nary a problem..... thanks for informed answers... bandur
