can you put different buttplates on an air rifle?

Post by benv99 »

I currently own a Walther LG400 Alutec expert. I am not happy with the contact III and the lack of support I get from it, but I recently shot an Anschutz 9003 airgun. Though I wasn't too much of a fan of the rifle itself, I really loved the buttplate on that rifle and the support and fit into my shoulder. SO I am wondering if it's possible to replace the contact III with the anschutz buttplate? if so could you please tell me where to buy the kind of buttplate I'm talking about (link to the picture will be attached) thanks.

Yes, although you may want to check with the vendor that's a straight swap. Look here:http://www.edinkillie.co.uk/ecatalog/ah ... Path=11_13

I replaced the Anschutz plate with a contact 3. So it can be done. There are parts that allow for fine adjustment that you can skip. So the Anschutz set up has fine tuning screws that are not needed in my opinion. Without these parts, it adjusts just like the contact 3.
