Centra Duplex Vario - loss of alignment

Post by Giddaymate »

Anyone tried these Centra Duplex vario sights?

Its located just above the loading port and if the hand touches it - it moves and the ring alignment is gone. Very nice sight picture but also fragile system.

Anyone with solution?

Giddy mate,

An expensive fix would be to buy a shorter rearsight that allows the duplex to sit further back. Cheaper would be a Central Vibrake, that partially shields the breech. I'm guessing you have already tried loading drills that keep your hand clear.

If you look carefully there are two very small grub screws that can be used to lock the XY adjustment. I can see the hole for one in the picture on the gold part.

I agree with Peter, the little grub screws lock the mechanism. The Duplex unit came with a very small allen key to tighten these grub screws.

Doesn't the OP mean that the duplex unit its self is lose in its connection to the rearsight unit, so when he knocks it the sight picture changes? Would the locking screws prevent this from happening?
