FWB AW93 Ammo choices

I have a new FWB and find that CCI std Bullet is too fat.
Only European Ammo feeds reliable, but is very expensive compared to CCI.
Is there any low cost Ammo that I can use for practice?
Or do any of you push the bullet thru a sizer? It would be simple to make.
Is it worth the trouble?

I use the Wolf cheaper match ammo. Have gone through two cases and no issues.

I shoot SK pistol match and rifle match. I tried Eley Tenex Pistol, RWS, Wolf Match Target, Lapua, Midas M, Lapua Center X, and Eley Club and never any failures. My round total is currently at 2100 as I keep a notebook for every session. My free pistol is very picky, but the AW93 shoots anything. I haven't tried any CCI or American ammo, but the pistol has been flawless. I'm the only flaw in the system.

I found Norma Tac22, works well and is accurate.
I found a dealer, Bullets.com that has it for 4.99 a box.
That's cheap in our new world.
It has an even narrower head than Eley Target.
Drops into the chamber freely.

Our squad had four and all were a little tight when new but soon bed-in after 100-200 rounds.

Make sure you clean out the chamber regularly as the miss-feeds are usually caused by the energy from the previous round for the cycling being expended on the case sticking through dirt during extraction of the spent round.

A very light lubrication of the brass of the first round could help. We used CLP breakfree (US product) when cold.

I bought my AW93 used, it has about 2,000 rounds thru it.
I am running a patch thru the bore every 30 rounds
And I put a drop of CLP on the head of the bullet for Rapids only.
And with the Norma Ammo am getting no issues.
The FWB is a very well made and simple design pistol.

My Pardini will function thru a 100 round match with no issues.

I have a further question for all you AW93 users,
The gun has a very barrel light balance,
Have any of you found a way of adding weight to the muzzle end of the barrel?

Have you considered sticking lead wheel weights on either side or underside of the locking device/lower shroud? Not pretty but functional. Could always be polished!

Sorry, I do not get it. You have top quality pistol and you want to use cheap ammo.
I own and shoot AW93 for three years using SK Standard (50pcs per box) and I have no issues with pistol. I can shoot 500 rounds with no cleaning having no problems. Bulk 500pcs box is the same SK Standard ammo but more covered for protection so I don't recommend it.

Why spend extra money for ammo? As long as it functions & shoots well, why should I pay for a fancy name?

If my pistol works just as well with Eley Target, why should I buy 10X? In a standard pistol, very few people on the planet will ever notice the difference in accuracy (if there is any...).

Reliability, repeatability, no jams, less fliers for my total piece of mind at affordable price.
Eley Club worked for me as well. Due to availability and price in my country I stick with SK Standard. A friend of mine started using SK Standard for his Free Pistol with great success. Many people shoot it with no problems.

I have found that the CCI SV is a slightly larger bullet and while it feeds well in my pardini, it is definately harder to close the bolt on my target rifles.

Furthermore, the recent batches of CCI SV grouped significantly larger from my pardini when compared to the wolf match target.

At 25 yards, the CCI SV grouped at 3/4 inch/10 rounds whereas the Wolf Match Target and most of the other european ammos grouped close to 3/8th inch. At 50 yards CCI SV was 2 inches whereas the european consistantly came in at 1 1/4 inch, sometimes approaching 1 inch. All testing was done off a sandbag rest.

I also collected the data on the velocity of each ammo and found that the CCI was not as uniform as the european. It can be found by searching pardini on Rimfire Central.

My conclusions were that even though CCI SV was more economical, it was not accurate enough for my needs. I also think that I had a very good batch of wolf match target for that test because my next case of Wolf MT did not have as tight a velocity spread.

My data was posted on Rimfire Central about a year ago.

I found the same thing.
I use CCI for practice in my Pardini, and Eley Target or matches.
And now I am using Norma Tac22 in my AW93. It's a very good Ammo.
As long as you don't mind the excessive grease.
I have retired my SP22 and use the SP for the 32acp.
My scores are so much better with the AW93.

I saw your web site for the Capital Club.
My son lives in MI and I might be able to catch a match.
Is it open to individuals? Or do you have to be a member of the club?

I've bought such 2-3 years ago from FWB directly.
There is not this item on a shop list, even some support guys do not know about it. Be insistent and they can find out for you.
It's really old item, thanks Igor and his blog. It's his advice.

It is a blue plate on top of a barrel (40g).
It's helpful for rapid fire, at least for me.

I had really bad expirience with Fiocchi, ruin the whole competition because of this crap.
Fiocchi ammo usually do not have any oil/grease because of it a gun become dirty very quickly.
In that competition each 20th shot was malfunction.

For training I prefer Geco or cheap RWS.
