Walther LGR

I have a Walther LGR air rifle that I used to compete with back in the 1980's. The serial number is 7593. Does anyone know how to find out the exact year it was manufactured? I read somewhere that they were made from 1976-1988. I bought it used back around 1980 sometime if I remember correctly. Also, how many of these rifles were produced ? Just curious.
