I'm considering having my guns tested at the Eley test range in Texas. The cost is only $45. I think it will be interesting to see what they come up with. Anyone else try this with a Free Pistol?

I bought some tenex pistol, osp match and osp pistol just to spoil myself and see how different it was. It was all measurably better than my normal wolf match target, but off the rest the gun shoots so much better than I do offhand and I cant tell the difference in practical use.

Yes, I'm really tempted to send them both in and see what the test tells me..

Results of my test...

I sent two TOZ free pistols to Texas to be test fired at the Eley facility.

Each pistol cost me $45 for the test and $23 for the return shipping (shipping to Texas cost me about $35 by FedEx).

Here is a copy of the report they sent me on one of the guns - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7eVMo ... sp=sharing

Each gun had very different results based on ammo lot.

Now I just order ammo from them. Great service. Easy to work with.

I took two (2) Hammerli 208s and a Hammerli 280 to the Customer Range in Birmingham a few years back. Seventeen lots of TENEX were available to test.

I was able to find a lot that consistently shot ~0.9 inches at 50 meters for each pistol. There was zero correlation between what lot performed well in a specific pistol and how it performed in a different pistol.

The worst groups were ~2 inches. I bought two cases of ammo for the pistol I liked best, and saved it for slow fire.
