We are now finished with Week 8 of the Vermont Winter Postal League. Attached to this document you will find a copy of this report in word and PFD. Albion PA, and Plattsburgh NY came in first place this week tied at 1579, Albion is maintaining a 10 point lead over Plattsburgh, for first place in the league 12625 to 12615. Plattsburgh was led by Peter Visconti and Paul Deslierres who both fired a 396; Albion was led by Joe Shrader who fired a 397. In third place was Whitehall NY (1573), they were led by Jonathan Steffan who fired a 396.

We had a very close race for Fourth place with Barrington NH, led by, John Liska 397, and Jamestown NY, led by Clayton Hanson 398, they tied with a 1565 just ahead of Burlington’s 1562, led by James Cummings 397.

In another close race this week; just eight points separated four teams, the Plattsburgh Aces 1505 led by Ron Patric 383 came in 6th overall just ahead of Rotterdam 7th (1502) led by Ron Michon 388 followed by Northfield White and Hudson Falls who both shot a 1497. Northfield White’s top shot was Richard Hayward, 384, and Hudson Falls was led by Robin Morris with a 386.

This week’s Top 4-P shooter was Clayton Hanson of Jamestown who both fired a 398. The top Prone shooter this week was Paul Deslierres of Plattsburgh 396. Our top Standing shooter was Andre Gross, of Rochester, and Eric Sloan of Niantic who both shot a 394. Our Top Junior Shooters this week were; Clayton Hanson, 398 Jamestown, 4-P; Eric Sloan,Niantic, 392, Prone; and Andrew Gross & Eric Sloan, 394, Standing. After 8 weeks, our Division standings are as follows; Albion PA leads the Western Division, 100 pts ahead of Jamestown. Plattsburgh finds themselves in first place in the Northern Division, with Burlington in second. Whitehall leads the Southern Division, 72 points ahead of Barrington.

Individually, Clayton Hanson is our 4 -P average leader (397); John Liska, Barrington NH, (396), is or prone average leader and David Higgins is our standing leader with a (393). (See results below for a complete list of averages). Special word of caution a shooter must fire in at least 5 matches to officially placed, while we will not remove anyone from the list, the overall league champion must compete in at least five matches, (same goes for our final season all-stars and top shot status).

Next week will be week 9, after that you groups of four will once again will be set and ready for week 10.

Match 10 will take place at the Plattsburgh Rod & Gun Club, April 11&12 (those too far of a distance to travel need to mail in their targets before then). Relay times will start at 9am Saturday and 10am on Sunday. You can start reserving your spots at any time. So far Whitehall plans to shoot at 10am on Sunday and Northfield W & M at 11am on Sunday. Burtlington 9am on Saturday, Norfork & Pont Claire 10:30, and Plattsburgh teams 9am, 11:30 and 1pm. There are open spots for 9am Sunday, a few at 10am on Sunday and if need be at noon on Sunday.
