Morning all,

I am looking at buying a barrel extension for my 1913 rifle in a Precise stock and I was wondering if there was a general consensus on what barrel extension was the best? The two I'm currently looking at are the MEC strike and the Anschutz precise one, the price difference between the two is £1, they are both just under £170. (links below). Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Chris

Bee Sting. I'm about to order another for myself and one for my friend.

Mark,

Thanks for the advice! I'm not sure I'm looking for a tuner (although having said that I'm still not entirely sure what they do) so what are the reasons for buying the Bee Sting over anything else?

Chris

You can get the BeeSting without the tuner.

(BeeSting / Uptagrafft)

15" max / 12" max

15" BeeSting = 6.5 oz / shorter 12" Uptagrafft = 10.5 oz

Carbon Fiber / aluminum

Vibration dampening / (aluminum doesn't do that)

Lighter CF / heavier aluminum

Can be flipped for when shooting with a scope / as far as I know Uptagrafft is non-flippable

lifetime warranty for manufacturer defects / only warranted if it doesn't fit on your rifle

I'd get the BeeSting, a little extra cost but has a lot more going for it than just an aluminum tube.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure the extra weight would be a bad thing, I have my handstop really quite far forward so the balance being shifted forward might be nice. I'm going to try the Grunig Hammershark just to see what the extended sight base feels like (I will most definitely be getting a tube). Hopefully I can try a tube at some point, although I'm not sure what one it'll be, it depends on what my local shop has for demo stock.

Before Chris leaves.

Has anyone tried the Mec Berta 2 tube? I would like to add a little length, but I don't want to buy all new 22mm front sight stuff. or are you guys shooting a longer tube with 18mm front sights?

I'll be looking to buy a tube and whack my existing front sight on it.

google barrel tuner if you dont know what you they do. there is heaps of info available. you basicly use it to change the barrel harmonics to match your ammo to your barrel better

If you are in the UK and just want the sight extension with no tuner capability, call Barry Nesom (01751 473124). His tubes are about £80 (inc. postage from Yorkshire), with a choice of 14/1813 or 1913 dovetail.
