Bought a RWS 75 what to check?

Post by 660grizzlyguy »

Brought home a nice RWS 75 side cocker today. Spring and seals done at Montezuma Iowa in 2001. Not much use since, is the story. Do you think I can shoot it, or what would need inspecting after that much time in the safe?

I would give it a bit of chamber oil and let it set overnight. And then take the plunge and shoot it.

Forget chameroil, it not an oldie with leather seals.
If it has been updated with modern seals in 2001 it is probably fine to use.
The original one's brake down over time.

New synthetic seals need lube too you know.. Just if they are dried out they will increase wear and will fail sooner.
