National PPP Air Pistol League

Post by erikkanderson »

In a joint venture between USA Shooting, Georgia Competitive Shooters, and the Orion Scoring System, we cordially invite all junior air pistol athletes to participate in the new National PPP League Spring season.

The National PPP League utilizes a brand new competition format, in which two person teams compete against each other in a series of win-loss games. Each team will participate in 10 to 12 games during the season with the winning team determined by the best win-loss record. Teams will be grouped together into divisions based on their skill level and PPP position, this way teams will always be competing against teams of similar capability.

The National PPP League is open to practically any two person team. Each team just needs two junior air pistol athletes, a coach, a place to shoot, and access to an Orion system. Thanks to the sponsorship of USA Shooting and Georgia Competitive Shooters there are no registration fees and medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each division. Affiliation with USA Shooting is not required.

The league was made possible by Orion's exclusive Team League technology. Utilizing this new feature teams from geographically different locations can compete against each other on an equal basis. All teams are scored equally and fairly using Orion's electronic scoring algorithm, then the scores are uploaded to the Internet creating the virtual games. Teams are ranked by Orion, shown on the Internet, based on their win-loss record.

The league starts February 2nd, and will continue until the end of May. The registration deadline is January 30th.
