Welcome to Week One of this Year’s Vermont Winter Postal League. This season the league has grown to 19 teams, with 153 entrants, from 3 countries and 12 states. Our overall Team Leader this week was last year’s league champion Albion PA they fired a 1579 led by Joe Shrader who fired a 397, Joe was also this weeks, Top Shot in the league in 4-P. They were followed by the Plattsburgh Rough Riders, 1572 led by Peter Visconti’s 395 in 4-P. Third place went to Whitehall, 1567, (the team with the most league championships), their top shooter was Lou Pratt 395 in 4-P. Whitehall was followed closely by Jamestown, who were just one point behind with a 1566.
This week’s Top Prone shooter was John Liska 397 of Barrington. Our top Standing shooter was David Higgins an individual shooter from Colorado 393. Our Top Junior Shooters this week were; Clayton Hanson 394, Jamestown, 4-P; Eric Sloan and Brendan Whittaker 395, both of Niantic, Prone and Eric Sloan 391, Standing.
This year the league has three divisions, North, South and West. Plattsburgh once again is the center of the Universe and the dividing line. Not only will we have Division standings, but each week we will put together an all star team from each division a North vs. South vs. West Challenge. We will also do this with the juniors. At the end of the season we will have a first and second team All-Division Team posted for each Division. The nice part of this league is we have shooters from all skill levels and ages, our oldest All-Star is 83 and youngest JR. All-Star is just 12.
This is our very first year using our new web site for reporting scores. Please be patient as we work out any bugs in the system. You can go directly to VTWinter.postalLeague.com and see all of the individual results. Please make every effort to have your team scores sent in on time, as soon as they are fired, by Sunday afternoon at the latest. I plan to send out next week’s results Monday morning.
You can find the full results at VTWinter.PostalLeague.com . For this week I have included the Team Standings and Individual Team Results in this report, just to be sure we got it right. You can also find that on the web. Each week I will continue to have the Division standings and All-Star stats in my written report.
The league is on facebook, you can find updates about the league on that site. Please look us up, and share your team photos and “like” us. Please share this e-mail with your teammates and fellow shooters. See you all at the range.
