No USA at Beijing ISSF World Cup

Post by matchguy »

Hello,

I didn't see any US shooters at the ISSF World Cup in Beijing recently, for the men's prone that is. Something going on with that?

USA Shooting opted to have the national rifle team shoot the Grand Prix in Granada instead of Beijing, as a tune-up for WCH in September. I think we had some shotgunners out there, though. Not sure what the pistol squad was up to.

The same for Germany. The German Shooting Federation didn't sent any shooters to China, partly because of the costs and partly because we had chosen other international competitions to participate - Munich of course, Maribor, Pilsen, Granada etc.

That's not unusual, normally it's (for Germany) 1-2 international competitions per year, where no german shooters or only a few participate.
