New Benelli .22?

Rumors are going around here that Benelli is coming out with a "new and

improved" version of their .22 caliber target pistols. Do any of you have

some info or knowledge about this? Tried searching the Internet, to no

avail!

I haven't seen anything yet. Check with Larry's Guns in Maine. They sell Benelli.

It's been out for awhile. I have one.

Changes from the previous model include, new trigger system, new rear sights, match barrel from Lothar Walther.

I have a few .22 match pistols but the Benelli is the one I like the most.

The Benelli site was just very recently updated. I was on it just a week or so ago. Looks like the MP95 is out of production, just the MP90 and the Kite remain.

Could you give us a rundown of the changes/new features please?

Sure - as I said previously - new features are -

Completely new trigger system.
New match grade barrel by Lothar Walther ( the test group for my pistol is almost 1 hole at 25m )
New rear sight - with adjustable notch size and height.

My other impressions -
Very, very high-quality manufacture with clever design and engineering.
Not ammo sensitive - shoots very tight groups with .22 ammo that my other guns group only averagely with.
I like the method of adjusting the trigger system - remove one screw and the whole trigger unit drops out for easy adjustment. And, each trigger adjustment screw has a locking grub screw to ensure that your adjustment never changes.
Recoil recovery is very fast - 1 little blip and gun is back on target.
Nills grips supplied with the guns are very comfortable and have a glove-like fit.
The manual, surprisingly enough for an Italian gun, is well written and actually makes sense.

Yes I do recommend one, am very pleased with mine and it's a keeper.

Congratulations on a fine purchase. They seem to shoot well with every .22 ammo I've trided so far, but I think you can't go wrong with CCI Std.

Don't have a Pardini SP so can't really say. However, looking at pictures of both, I would say that the Benelli is slightly more upright.

You be the judge. Here is my Pardini SP with the red lines annotating the top and bottom of the barrel shroud and the centerline of the grip frame of my Benelli superimposed on it. Looks very similar to me.



Custom grips can be made to make the grip angle more upright or more angled.

attach a dot sight DIRECTLY to the pistol without having to use an

additional mount of some kind? Seems to me that the older model did

have a grooved top that would allow this. I wish all of the target pistol

makers offered "Optic Only" versions of their products as an option

for the American market; the design of these pistols would obviate the

need of using separate mounts when utilizing an optical sight!!

Question #1 - I have no idea as I have never used a mount before.

Question #2 - Original trigger blade is about 5mm - you can change it in about 5 seconds with an allen key. - very easy.

I should add, after examining mine closely ( and reading the manual ), you can adjust the rake of the grip - from a Pardini type angle to a FWB AW93/ Hammerli 208 type angle...loosen 1 screw and move to your hearts content...
