Does anyone know how many of these rifles were made, what trigger was used and who the barrel maker was (Border)?

Thanks Blindkiwi

I don't think many were made. I've seen one, but only in photos, not in the flesh. You might try contacting the maker, Rober Nibbs. Here is his current website, www.rifle-maker.com. Alternatively, www.stirton.com, which is a UK smallbore forum; someone there may know something.

Thanks Tim I'll try contacting Robert Nibbs for more information. It looks to be a well designed rifle from the picture I've seen.

Looks can be deceptive, as Robert will verify.

That could be why the rifles are so rare, and also why Robert turned his attention to the Gemini stocks, which are well designed and made.

Doesn't really answer your questions - not directly at any rate, but may be of interest nevertheless.

Well it answers those about the trigger and barrel.

Sandy,

i'd be very interested to have a copy of that advert.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like the rifle had many good features but no commercial success a bit like the Centre 10 rifle from the same era?
Were there any UK reviews of the SG+N smallbore rifle?

We can do that one also.

(Except we don't know how to get the images to display at decent size.) - now improved a bit. BDutton has done a proper job below.

Thanks Sandy pity the info could not be larger for the Center 10. I remeber seeing an article in Target Gun on the first model (prototype?) and it looked interesting
The SG+N appears to have the same bolt head space arrangement as the Center 10 using a spacer; seems like a good idea if you wish to cheaply adjust the headspace by having several spacer sizes

I noticed you linked from the 'thumbs' dir... I found the full size images.
