First time shoting a rifle, ever.

So I shot a rifle for the very first time in my life. A garage match to boost. I used RWS Mesiterkuglen 4.5m 0.53g on the Haemmerli AR20. I did the usual 60 shots, but un-timed, although I ended up having plenty of minutes to spare. Misses came down half way to observe my form, to make sure I am not slouching, holding my rifle correctly, etc. Initially I shoot right handed a few times, did not feel like having ANY advantage whatsoever, and then I started shooting left, and the bulls came. Fatigue is a factor. In the end I got over .700; it was an interesting experience. I never thought that rifle could actually be that much fun. I got a kick out of the fact that I shoot left handed while as a pistol shooter I shoot right. More practice, and I need to purchase proper AR targets. My next goal is to deal with the fatigue, and concentrate on making sure the shots stay inside the black.

My overall impression? Rifle is easy to learn but hard to master; pistol is hard to learn and hard to master.

It's fun, but in the end I will always stick with my free pistol. But it is good to know that I can now hunt little rabbits without missing left and right.
