help adjusting Hammerli AR20 trigger
Posted: Sun Jun 23, 2013 2:01 pm
I just bought a used Hammerli AR20, and can't seem to get the trigger adjusted. I am unable to get any first stage, the moment I put pressure on the trigger it fires.
I had to pull the rifle apart, as the previous owner had 3 different regulators, and had a 780 fps regulator in it, and I wanted the 560 fps. The regulators each have their own hammer spring.
Here is the page from the manual describing how to adjust the trigger:

I do not understand the difference between trigger pressure point, and trigger slack. Nothing I do with screw f or screw d seem to make any difference at all in gaining a first stage.
As you have probably guessed, this is my first air gun. I have a Kimber .22 rimfire, so I understand what a 2-stage trigger can, or should, feel like, but I am unable to achieve it with this Hammerli.
Thanks for any help.
