Questions about Savage mark II FVT

Hey guys
I am going to buy a Savage Mark II FVT for my son and I want to change the stock to a thumbhole. My question is will the variment stock interchange? Are all the Mark II stocks interchangable?

Any info you guys can give would be of great help. I don't have a lot of money and just want to get my son into a rifle I know he will get into.

As long as the stocks are for the same caliber AND length of action (there are two different lengths), they will work. Boyd's and Richard's make stocks, sometimes seconds are available. Go here http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/fo ... y.php?f=24 for more info.
