I came across this image of what is reported to be a Norinco Free Pistol. I was wondering if anyone had any information about this pistol. I resembles a Toz 35 in some aspects.

Thanks Brian

We had a local shooter using one a few yaears ago. From memory it was called an "MS01".

Sort of looked like a cross between a Toz and Hammerli 150. The one in your pic is missing it's fore-end which should look a bit like the Hammerli 150 one.

If you can find the gun magazine published in Belgium called the AMI, Issue 79 has an article about this free pistol
AMI Issue 79 1986 Octobre Article: Armes de tir Le pistolet libre MS-01 chinois by Christian Raynaud

Interestingly the TOZ-35 was replaced by the TOZ-35M starting from the mid 1985. So I am not surprised that Norinco managed to be allowed to make clones of the TOZ-35 immediately.

The barrel might look like a Toz but they are not a clone, just similar looking.

If you don't find the article in AMI, you may want to contact Christian Raynaud on his web site. He's French speaking, so the answer could be in French, but I'm quite sure he understands English.
