Does anyone know the best way to mount a Hammerli SP20 in a rest for batch testing?

I would like to test my .32 loads, but cant find a suitable insert for the Ransom Rest.

cheers

Hi Brakarzac.

Be weary of any mounts you do get for and SP20. I'm not sure of where to get one. I tried having one made up a couple of years ago, but it was very difficult.

Reason being is the way the trigger unit is held by a pin onto the frame of the pistol. It provides a lateral movement which makes your testing unreliable.

Any mount you get will need to address that problem.

Good luck in your search.

Hi Lastman,

I have just ordered a new SP20 grip/frame from Frontier Arms.
I will have the grip machined down to fit into a ransom rest mould for the Hammerli 280.

cheers

Been there, done that, got the grip frame. Also to use for a service
pistol style timber grip.

Hi David, is it possible to fit an orthopedic style timber grip to a modified grip frame for the SP20?

Cheers
