I wanted something to secure my air rifle while replacing targets. I already had a homemade rest made out of a block of wood covered with leather and I made a pellet box holder out of a piece of aluminum with velcro on top and velcro on the bottom of my pellet box. It secures to the scope stand between the sections.
I made the air rifle hanger out of a piece of 2x4 that I cut down to 2x3. I bought two rubber covered screw-in hangers and screwed them into the block of wood. I found a clamp at the hardware store in the electrical supplies section. I spread the clamp and secured it to the block of wood with a very large wood screw (very bolt-like). I covered the clamps with pieces of small bicycle inner tube I got for free from a bicycle repair shop. I bought a 1/4" thumb screw and wing nut to replace the bolt and nut that came with the clamp. I then spray painted the contraption. My total cost for the project was less than $4.50.
