FWB sight markings

I'm just curious to know about the sight markings on my FWB rear sight, for up and down adjustments it is marked with H and T can anyone help explain that? And what are the words that these markings refer to I would just like to know. I figured out that L and R are backwards they move the sight left and right not POI anyways just wanting to know thanks [/code]

Thedrifter,

the T and H on the elevation turret stand for Teif and Haupt; the German for Low and High. Turn the turret clockwise to move the POI down (Teif direction).

The turrets markings appear to be backwards (i.e. the L arrow moves it right) because it's based on where the shot is, not where you want it to be.

Hey mate, I realise this was just answered, but just to help out

the symbols mean the reverse

a.k.a L = too far left so turning it this way will bring your shot right.

and vice versa for R, H and T.

obviously standard procedure for most smallbore sights is clockwise = left and down.

But having this written down on your shooting box next to you can be a lifesaver as you cant forget then :) When starting on the FWB it was a huge pain when accidentally sighting the wrong way because of misreading the sights.

I think of it as "T" for Tall (up) and "H" for Hell (down).

The FWB sights are standard European specification.

You will note on most they are marked "Bei" in the middle of the arrows, bei is German for "when". Even if not marked bei as some arn't the adjustment is the same.

Windage, the arrows show L and R easy as same symbol in both languages, so "WHEN" shots are left turn direction L, "WHEN" shots are right turn direction R.

Elevation, the arrows show H and T, Hocht is high so the same, just remember T is Tief, low. Same rule "WHEN" shots are high turn direction H, "WHEN" shots are low turn direction T

Once you get "WHEN" in your head its easy to remember. Pistols are the same.
