Reputable sites for buying shooting equipment?

Post by Jordan1s »

Hello,

I live in the US and was wondering if these sites are reputable/legitimate, or if anyone has had trouble with purchasing items from them. I know intershoot.co.uk is a legitimate site but what about.....

http://www.schiesssport-buinger.de/
http://www.shootingequipment.de/

thanks!

Virus Alert
I just clicked on both those links and both times my virus blocker went off, signaling a javascript based virus attack. Best not to go those places unless you are certain of your protection.

I'm in the US too and I have been very impressed with the customer service at http://www.shootingequipment.de/. Very quick e-mail responses and they can special order whatever they don't have in stock very quickly.

That said, I've done a lot more business with intershoot.co.uk, and the experience has been outstanding. Ryan is very helpful and is very knowledgeable about what he sells. E-mailing him is almost as real-time as IM! He would be my first choice, if he has what I need.

Edinkillie doesn't ship to the US, when I checked a couple months back.

Whatever shop you decide to use, make sure to e-mail them first to make sure that the items you are about to order are actually in stock. This way you get a very specific idea of exactly when you'll be getting your stuff.

BTW it's me who posted the last two posts. This forum should really disable anonymous postings...

I have accessed both sites listed by Jordan1s without any problem, but as from buying off them I cannot comment.

I have bought bits and pieces from the following site and I have seen them at the Bisley Meetings in the UK.

www.bedstargetsupplies.co.uk

However I do not know if they ship to the US

I have dealt with Neal Stepp of ISS. He offers exceptional service and integrity. Here is his url:

Scott, our host, has also been great the couple times I've used his company. His url is: http://www.pilkguns.com/

I have bought from Allermann (Schiessport Allermann) in Germany with good results. They speak English, and are happy to deduct the German value added tax when shipping outside the EU. If you're buying a gun, it takes a bit longer as the German customs has to visit the store and check every order.

I think you'll find that a lot of the European shops speak English and are more than happy to ship to the States. All you need to do is e-mail them and ask!

Yeah,. Ryan at Intershoot is very good. Edinkillie are also very good - it's run by Don McIntosh who coaches the GB squad, so there's a lot of knowledge there, but if they don't ship to the US then not so helpful for those across the pond.
