Morini cm22rf Takedown screw size?

Does anyone know what the size/dimendions the single torx take down screw is for the Morinin CM22RF. I have just lost mine (the main screw that holds everything together!) I dont really want to wait weeks and have to order one from swizerland! I figure they must be a standard size.

I think it's the same screw which holds the barrel
many morini users have problems with this screw.
glue it with the right type of locktyte

I just measured. You can get that as a bit if you have a screwdriver set (ie Chapman, etc).

Hi Steel, I have a hardware store that is local to where I live. It's called
Mcfadden-Dale and they may have nation wide retail stores near you.
they may not have the correct length, but you can replace the lost screw
with a hex head one. I know, I haven't really given your answer. Spencer
has written a great instruction set for the Morinin CM22RF, maybe he has
your answer.

Um! Not yet...
This was one of those projects that I thought I might have to undertake, but I have had no problems with this in my all-steel CM22M RF.

I use my AHG wrench set to 3Nm without any thread locking liquid or oil and it stays 'tight' (some sessions have been 500+ rounds for the day).

I know David Moore has turned up (down?) a few hex head screws for his own use - he might chime in if he has the details.

The screw is a Metric 5 x 0.8 16mm Torx C/S machine screw.
It can be replaced with a M5 x 20mm cap screw but you need to turn up a bevel insert/washer as the frame is counter sunk.

It's a Torx 20. I wrote a 'T-20' as that's it common name.

Google it or take the screw (only the screw) to HD or Lowes and as for a T-20 bit.

David M might be able to give a 'change-over' serial number. His two benefited from polishing whereas my CM22M RF (about 18 months later) did not need it.

Any tight-chamber problem is barrel related and that part is common to both the alu and steel variants.

Ta for the comment on the article - it's one of those things that I update/expand as things come up.
