A Question for Australian shooters

Hey all,

I would love to know if Australia has any academies similar to Sporth Southland (a New Zealand training academy for all sports). It's not easy to find out about such things in Aus and it'd be great to get in touch with one. I personally have shot at a state and as of tomorrow a National level, however If I really want to go further I definitely want to get in touch with an academy or team of some sort that can assist in further developing my shooting skills and helping me to reach further goals.

Thanks all

P.S sorry if this is the wrong forum, just wanted to make it specific to rifle shooting.

How long have you been affiliated to TRA?
You could contact the state coach through the NSWSARA site at http://www.nswsarai.com/

Thanks mate,

I've been with them for roughly 2 years I do believe. As a member I do recieve free coaching once every 2 months or so, but if I was to contact a state coach I'd have more frequent training correct?

It's up to you.

The AIS runs shooting 'sessions' from time to time, and there have been various residency scholarships over the years - but these are arranged through AISL programs as opposed to USA private enterprise 'pay as you go' schools for private clients (and yes, before I get flamed, I know about the excellent USAS clinics).

And how would one come across these AISL scholarships?

Get noticed as a promising up-and-coming shooter would be a good start - improve fast enough and you will get noticed.

Cheers mate,

Thought that might be my best bet :)

Hopefully I can prove it at Youth Nationals.
