Hello to all. For all of you who has shot both the Walther KK SB and the Anschutz SB. Whats the big difference between the two. Looking into getting a SB for my son

My impression is:
that both companies produce some excellent barrels, action & trigger but the main difference is in the fit of the stock to the shooter.
Those with smaller hands might not find the wider forend of the KK stock comfortable and similarly larger hands might not like the narrowness of the Anschutz Precise stock. Both are highly adjustable in all other respects.
And then there's the Walther "Anatomic" Stock... I haven't heard anything bad about that.
One small difference is that the Walther's loading port is slightly closer to the shooter than the Anschutz, which might be an advantage.

Also, you might prefer the MEC Buttpate and handstop that come with the Walther or you might not.
The Anschutz 7002 sights are pretty good though.

So it's down to personal preference - but there ARE a lot of KK's being used at the top level.



FWIW, I own two wooden stocked Anschutz's but have tried the KK and would be happy with either. People who own Walther's seem to be very pro-Walther in my experience.

How old is your son and are you thinking of buying new or second-hand?

Kenny, My son just turned 16, he is currently shooting a Walther LG300 and doing well. He is tall and skinny and LEFT HANDED which makes it tough trying to find a LH rifle. It appears that the Walther comes with sight and Anschutz doesn't. If I could find a 1913 in LH I would do it.

If you are looking to buy used, you just have to keep an eye out on here and put in a search request on gunbroker.com. I have seen some lefties go for really good prices because there weren't any lefties looking at the time they were up for auction.
Even though the Anshutz is priced without sights, both rifles are fairly close in price when you factor in the sights with both.

MT Guns normally has a selection of used guns that aren't always advertised. I think this is also the case with Pilkington and Champion as well.

Add Neal Stepp at International Shooters Service to that list as well. We've had quite a few LH shooters from our club get rifle from him ... both new & used

My Wife and I both have new KK300's, the fore end width is made up of removable wooden side plates, we have both removed the plates and it results in a pleasant slim fore end.
Great rifle, highly recomended.

Thanks everybody for there info. I was able to pick up a KK300 alutec. Son had no idea that it had arrived. Nothing but Giant smiles. Got it home took a couple of shots to zero the rifle, and first prone route scored a 97. (Even bigger smiles followed). Again thanks everyone.!!!
