rifle center of gravity

im just wondering where the ideal center of gravity for a 3P rifle is.....
as of right now....its seems to be a tad front heavy....with the COG ~5-6" in front of the trigger...
for some reason i feel the COG should be right over the trigger......
i am contemplating drilling the butt stock and filling it with lead......
so im just wondering if i should change where my COG is.....or leave it alone.....or is it all personal preference?
