Hi all,
Just wondering if many/any of you use a significantly heavier than 500 gram trigger on AP. I've been inching mine up since reading the trigger control essay by Warren Potter. Just trying to gather information from you folks with experience. Thanks, todd.

I set it to 520 back in 2008 when I got my LP10, and have forgotten it. It passes everytime tested, so I don't fuss with it.
My IZH46m crept down, so it had to be set from time to time (usually a month before a match where I knew it'd be tested).

Funny you should say that about the 46m. I just checked mine yesterday as there's a competition coming up next week and I don't want to be underweight there and have to adjust on the day. Seems it somehow crept down from about 550grams to around 480grams over the couple of months since I last set it. Quite surprising. So I guess a monthly trigger weight check is in order for my 46m, just so it doesn't wander too far and lead me into bad habits on the trigger.
For what it's worth, what I hear generally is that people suggest staying at least 20 or 30grams heavy just to be safe on pistol check. Better safe than having to do last minute tweaks and letting that distract you.

My LP50e is somewhere beyond 700 grams. I screwed around until I felt comfortable putting pressure on it without fearing premature release, and left it since then. If you read the interview with Nestruev (I think it's somewhere in Pilks Coaching Files) he admits to using trigger weights way above the limit to be on the safe side...

There are a couple of threads here which discuss home-made weights that people are using to check their triggers regularly:
