Positioning for easy loading

Hey all,

I recently re configured everything on my Feinwerkbau 2700 rifle to bring myself lower to the ground. It has proven to be the best thing I've ever done for shooting, considering I almost always use to sit high.

The problem with this set up means that after each shot i have to swivel the rifle out of my shoulder each time, load then put it back in my shoulder. Now I see many people who do this and to be honest it isn't too bad. but how would you effectively set yourself up so you barely have to move when reloading?

Thanks all

You didn't mention what position this is.

I'm guessing because the poster wrote

That he's talking about prone.

What you will have done is alter the angle you point to the target when you changed your position - are you more 'straight on' ? It's that angular change that makes for easier or harder loading. It's worse I think for smaller shooters - I had exactly that problem until I rebuilt my position last year.

Cheers Rob,

I went down to the range tonight, and adjusted my leg angle and it managed to bring my arm into a more natural position, effectively bolting me to the ground in the triangle 3 point fashion, if you know what i mean.

So i guess problem solved, just had to work on my overall natural body angle
