Rifle: most likely some flavor of Anschutz
Pistol: Morini or Toz. I think very few world class shooters are competing with Hammerlis any more.

The Hammerlis were tops in their heyday and used are very reasonably priced now. Parts MIGHT be tough. They are certainly as accurate as anything out there.
Sounds like you don't know WHAT to buy. Just remember that if you're a pistol shooter you don't have nearly the crap to lump around.

With either discipline, "best" is very personal. With modern machining techniques, almost anyone should be able to make very accurate firearms, IF fired from a machine rest.
The trick is all the remaining ergonomics that allow an individual shooter to easily access that accuracy. Weight, balance, trigger, sights, grip, etc. all come into play, and because every shooter is different, the "best" for one may be a disaster for another. One feature common to many of the "best" firearms is adjustability. That way one product can suit many shooters.

Can't comment too much on rifles, from what I have seen at high level events Anschutz seem to be very popular.
On that train of thought Morini's are very popular pistols along with Toz. I have a new Hammerli and to me it is the most responsive of all of the pistols on the market.
As has been said, best is a very subjective term. It's all up to what you think is best and don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
Good luck

Is it the FP60? How about a small review? Not many of them around so a first hand impression would be nice:-)
