** edit. Updated information **
Email from Dave Kimes

Hello again everyone,

As I emailed to you previously, Karl Kenyon passed away the 31st of July.
The memorial service details are repeated at the bottom.
Services will be held on Friday the 12th of August.
Also added are a few hotels provided by Terry Kenyon if you plan to be there.

A number of shooters asked about possible donations in Karl's name.
Here is what Karl's son, Terry Kenyon emailed today after calling and talking with me.
-----------------------------------------------
"Regarding donations in Dad's name, there are two that I am sure of that Dad would approve:

Ely 1st Ward -- LDS Church
Ward Missionary Fund
POB 150523
Ely, Nevada 89315

USA Shooting - U.S. Shooting Team
U.S. Olympic Training Center
1 Olympic Plaza
Colorado Springs, CO 80909 "
--------------------------------------------------------

There have been discussions about a possible perpetual trophy in Karl's name.
I will keep you posted on that. We are open for suggestions.

Also, it would be great to have a brick or two placed at the flag pole at Camp Perry in Karl's name:
---
www.odcmp.org/1107/default.asp?page=CP_MEMORIAL
---
From the above link:
"Anyone who likes the idea of creating this memorial and who wants to be part of the effort to raise funds to make it a permanent part of Camp Perry, can purchase an engraved brick for $50. You can purchase a brick to memorialize a friend or relative. Each brick can be engraved with up to three lines of text with a maximum of 14 characters per line. The texts on the bricks will become specific memorials to past or present National Matches competitors or volunteers. "

If someone would like to pick up the ball and run with this, that would be great.
You can download an order form on that same site, listed above.

Ernie VandeZande and I plan to be there.

Were it not for Karl Kenyon I would have one less World Championship gold medal
with world record (shared with Lones Wigger in 1974), and possibly not made the 1980 Olympic Team.
For that I am indebted to many people, the USAR, and the AMU, but Karl is at the top of the list.

Sincerely,
David Kimes
