Morini 162ei S Vs. M grip size
Ok so I hate asking very personal questions here but seeing as I can't come to any conclusion regarding this or well, afford to buy a new grip to try, I'll just ask away.
SO. I got a used 162ei about 2 months ago, fitted with a medium grip. Grip size is perfect for my hand's length and girth, seeing as I have what I'd call pianist fingers (90cm long middle finger Vs. 85cm wide palm) but is a little too high, as the top of my hand (index/thumb webbing) doesn't touch the grip that much.
The palm shelf is maxed and adding some temporary putty on it, to put my hand higher has somewhat worked, except my palm doesn't fit as well in the palm pocket and my trigger finger sits awkwardly higher. I tried removing it and adding putty to the top of the grip and that worked quite well but placed my hand lower along the barrel, which might be a 'disadvantage'....
So on to the actual question... would a Small grip make sense or would I make a tradeoff for another? (Finger sizing Vs Height) Would my hand sit higher with a Small grip than with a Med grip with putty on the upside?
For reference I shot a LP10 for a while with Medium Morini grips and the fit was great, except the finger sizing but not a big deal. Pilkguns charts says a Med Steyr = Small Morini.
Thanks for your input!

FYI. Rink has an option "volume thick" for people with long fingers like you describe that moves the hand about 5mm to the rear http://www.formgriffe.de/en/shpSR.php?c=e&p1=255&p2=369
The palm rest angle can also be adjusted on the Rink grip what might help you too.

I used to have a Rink "thick" grip for a Pardini SP. It was undoubtably the best fitting unmodified grip I ever owned.jipe wrote:FYI. It might have been the best fitting unmodified grip FOR YOU Stan, but for someone else that accolade might be a Morini/Steyr/Nils/Marchal grip with an umodified Rink grip being an absolute disaster.IPshooter wrote:I used to have a Rink "thick" grip for a Pardini SP. A grip is only as good as the way it matches YOUR hand and shooting style.
What he said. I had already checked most of the options before posting the question, and well, as I said, I was mostly wondering about the height of the hand relative to the barrel on the Small sized grip (and to know if it is very close to the Steyr Medium).
But thanks for the suggestions, I was looking closely at Rink anyway.

I fully understand this. The point I was making referred to Jipe's post about the "thick" option. The Rink grip is the only grip I have tried that offers this option, and I have similar hands to the person in the first post.
I took a chance when I ordered the thick Rink grip, but it was an educated guess that paid off for me. Just passing along the info.
