In the middle of shooting this morning my Toz started to malfunction. It won't cock. The set trigger will set and release but the main mechanism will not cock. Any ideas where to start. I usually don't have any problems tearing things down and repairing them but this will be my first time with the TOZ.

The first thing I would do is, remove the falling block and check the sear spring isn't broken. It's the one with the loop on the end thats held in place by the firing pin retainer. The springy end should come forward under the sear to lift it and make it engage with the firing pin as it's drawn back when you open the breech.

To remove the falling block. Knock out the pivot pin, then hold down the front of the falling block as you pull the loading lever back (like you would to load it). The falling block should just pop out, back end first.

Pilkguns has the manual on line here:

If you have ever had a gun apart before, the TOZ is a piece of cake.

I believe jteam nailed it.

A replacement will be irritatingly expensive from Larry's Guns.

There is a thread which describes how to make a replacement sear spring from a bit of piano wire, if one is necessary:

The firing pin spring may be replaced with a S&W spring if that is the problem:
