I've purchased a few items on eGun. Since you'll have little or no leverage if the seller decides not to honor the arrangement, it's probably more important than usual that you deal with sellers with substantial positive feedback. I've never had a problem (knock on wood), but I would only buy from people who seem to be established dealers or vendors.
Some (many?) vendors who list "international shipping" balk at shipping to the US. Others are willing, but they make it worth their while by quoting excessive shipping charges. I think actual shipping to the US for a pistol or AP is about 35 Euro. I don't know what additional headaches there are for the seller to ship to the US, so I have no qualms about being charged more than that (within reason).
The shipping makes me a bit nervous, since if something is lost or damaged I imagine that Deutsche-Post (DHL) and the USPS would probably point fingers at each other trying to avoid responsibility, and I imagine that the handoff from one to the other at the port of entry is probably the riskiest part of the journey. Your DHL tracking # is also the USPS tracking #. Right now I've got something lost in the black hole of customs and/or the USPS. Neither organization is really focused on answering customer inquiries.
Most Egun sellers seem to insist on a bank transfer instead of a credit card or paypal. I use Xoom.com. They charge a reasonable stated fee, but also take a cut by giving you a poor exchange rate. Your bank would probably give you a better exchange rate, but would charge a much higher transaction fee.
Feel free to PM me if you want any other info.
