converting SSP to left hand

Got my SSP about a month ago and just received my left hand Rink grip today. Took the existing right hand grip off and wanted to put the left grip on but You cant switch the mag release to the other side. It seems like you would need different release parts for it to work on the right side. Anybody know if this is the case or is there a way to convert it to left without parts?
